Some of my favorite former co-workers / very dear friends and I recently started a little "Breakfast Club" to make sure that we see each other on a regular basis. Once a month on Monday mornings we meet up at the crack of dawn (and sometimes before) for coffee, good eats, and fantastic conversation. This month the date happened to fall just in time to make it a birthday celebration for me and Heather, whose birthday is the day before mine.
So to celebrate both of us turning 21 (shhhh!) we met at
Lola for a birthday breakfast to start off the week. It's been ages since the last time I went to Lola and as usual I was not disappointed. Even though getting up an hour earlier and catching the bus downtown in the dark and cold might sound like the makings of a miserable Monday morning, I popped out of bed this morning excited to have some time with my friends. It was a wonderful way to start my birthday and I'm so happy we've started this little tradition.

Thanks so much to everyone for all your extremely kind words, thoughts and wishes on my birthday. I can't believe I am officially in my 30s!

ReplyDeleteI love this idea! It's so hard to get people together AFTER work - this is a great idea to do it BEFORE! Good decision on the Benedict - that is my breakfast weakness too!
