¡Viva México!

Marina Fiesta Resort and Spa.
We're not really in a position where we should be going on any more tropical vacations this year, but this was just too good an opportunity to pass up.

Our friends Crystal and Laura go down to Cabo San Lucas every year around this time, and Crys has always tried to get me to come along. I thought this year the answer would definitely be no due to our honeymoon being just a few months ago. But then a killer Groupon for an all-inclusive package at a resort I stayed at with my family a few years ago happened to pop up in my inbox. In addition, we had a $99 companion ticket through Alaska Air that was going to expire by the end of the year. And, as icing on the cake, Stew happened to have four days off right in the middle of the planned dates. So all things considered, there really wasn't a reason not to head south for a few days of sunshine.

Of course we booked the trip before we realized we would be in the middle of buying a house, which added quite a bit of additional stress to going out of town for a week, but we made it work and the trip was awesome! Just what we needed...

First night with a bucket of beers to start our trip.

Super excited to be on vacation!

The Elbow Room claims to be the world's smallest bar...

...so of course we had to take a shot there!

Stewart became obsessed with beating our waitress at tic-tac-toe.
He couldn't win!

Cabo!

A photo collage illustration of Laura and Stew's love/hate relationship.

Always with the tongues out... classy.

I don't know why I was doing this...

I don't believe it... Crys dancing up on the bar?!

Gorgeous beach, just like I remembered it.

We spent our days at the Mango Bar drinking beer buckets and
participating in challenges to get more free beer buckets.

Stew and Rob had NO idea what they were getting themselves into with this one!

Booze Cruise Night!

Gorgeous boat ride out to Lover's Cove Beach.

We heard that this "Jungle Booze Cruise" can get a little bit rowdy.

That's why we chose it, obvs!

Pirate ship!

Lovely sunset.

It didn't take Stew long to take control of the situation.
And the tequila.

And on the way back things did get pretty rowdy!
It's actually kind of hard to dance on a boat.

We had the most amazing street tacos of our lives.
I think we ate here almost every single night.

Cheers! Our last day on the beach.

Loving my time in the sun with the girls.

I don't actually think this one was a contest... I think Stew was just dancing on stage.

Such a great trip with some of our very best and most awesome friends.
We were so happy to be invited!

Everything about the trip was amazing, but we definitely decided that next time we'll go for seven nights instead of four. The trip was just too short. But we really liked the all-inclusive deal we purchased at Marina Fiesta, and if you had a whole group staying there it would be an even more amazing deal. The location in the marina is the perfect distance right between the beach and downtown, and with all you can eat and drink it really saves a lot of money. They even filled our mini fridge with beers every day that we brought with us to the beach.

Unfortunately now it's back to the real world for us. And of course it was already pouring down rain by the time we returned home. Someone remind me why I love Seattle again?
