Suburbia Update

I can't believe that it's been almost four years since we bought our condo in Ballard and moved in together! So many amazing things have happened since that time, our wedding obviously being the highlight. Marriage inevitably led to discussions of having a family someday, and we quickly realized that having a child while living in our one bedroom condo would definitely not be feasible. We both agreed that we don't want to raise kids in the city (or most importantly, in the Seattle School District), which meant we decided to start exploring the suburbs.

Extensive research and exploration has led us to Snoqualmie Ridge. This new home master-planned community is in an absolutely gorgeous location just 25 miles east of downtown Seattle via I-90. Here, we can afford to choose a floor plan and have a large house built for us in less than six months! We will be able to choose our lot as well as pick custom finishes and upgrades for our home, making it absolutely perfect for the next 15+ years of our lives. It's all very exciting... We've narrowed our choices down to a couple different floor plans and lots, and we hope that if all goes well we'll be making an offer on our new home soon, and moving in early next year!

In the meantime, we need to deal with the not-so-fun part of this process: selling our condo in Ballard. So we've been de-cluttering like crazy, we hired professional cleaners to come in and do a deep clean, and we have a photographer and realtors coming in this weekend to help us with our listing. Then, hopefully, we can put it on the market by the end of the month. We have no idea at this point how quickly it will sell or how much (if anything) we stand to make on it, but we have high hopes that the process will go smoothly.

So lots of changes for the Always right now, but we're very excited!
