Continuing our tradition, this year we took the kids to see Santa Claus.
It didn't go as well as we had hoped, but we probably shouldn't have anticipated anything better from our little rug rats.
Last year Ryder asked Santa for a blue dump truck. This year he talked about several different ideas, including "a plane that flies by itself," something about a dinosaur, and at one point a puppy was mentioned... (No!)
However, once we actually placed him on Santa's jolly lap, poor Ryder got the stage fright and was unable to articulate to Santa what he'd like for Christmas. So Mommy and Daddy Santa will just have to make an educated guess this year.
Kiley, on the other hand, took one look at Santa and started screaming her bloody head off. I can hardly blame her, and it was sort of comical, but I was a little disappointed to not get an adorable smiling photo of both kids with Santa. So it goes...
In the meantime at home, we've been busy getting ready for the holiday.
Ryder has been baking, decorating, and eating Christmas cookies like it's his job.

And Kiley has been dressing up in her best holiday attire.
Just a few more days until Santa will be coming down the chimney!
Now somebody please tell these kids to stop pouting and crying...
