Adventura

A while back I bought Stew and I a Groupon for Adventura at Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. I had no idea that back behind Redhook there is a jungle gym built for grown-ups! Our deal included 2.5 hours of climbing on the enormous aerial adventure playground plus a tour of the brewery when we were done. The course included a 50-foot cargo-net climb, a state-of-the-art zipline exit, and 15 variations of cable crossings.

When we first arrived and saw the course I was a little disappointed. It was smaller than I had imagined and I couldn't understand how it would take more than about 15 minutes to complete. Boy was I wrong! It took about 30 minutes to get geared up and complete safety training, and then a while longer to get everyone up the cargo net and onto the course. The crossings themselves were incredibly mentally and physically challenging, and they required way more balance and upper body strength than I would have thought. It took me at least twice as long as Stew to complete each of the crossings, but I never did fall! And we used every minute of that 2.5 hours, we were having so much fun!

We absolutely loved the adrenaline rush that the course provided and we had a super fun, sunny afternoon together. And the tour of Redhook afterward really hit the spot.

Who knew this was right back behind Redhook?

Jungle gym for grown-ups!

Now that I've sampled all of Redhook's brews I've decided that
the Copper Ale is my favorite and I'm going to start buying it all the time.

If you happen to see this Groupon pop up again we highly recommend it!

  1. That looks really fun! I think the balance beam crossing would freak me out though.

  2. That one was actually the easiest because it didn't require any strength, just balance.

  3. That looks fun! I'd totally fall off the balance beam (log) though. You should buy the Red Hook mixed beer pack at Fred Meyer! You can get all the yummy flavors together. I love ESB, personally.

  4. Now I am really, really excited for when Joel and I go on the course. We are scheduled for 10/13! I will have to start focusing on upper body workouts at the gym to be prepared!
