2014, you can SUCK IT.
You've really kicked us in the balls this year, and frankly I can't wait to leave you in the dust.
With the exception of the birth of our son, this may have been one of the hardest years of my life.
My pregnancy was extremely difficult. Ryder's delivery was one of the most painful, scary things I've ever experienced. We lost Steve, Liesbeth, and Doug. Relationships with friends and family members have crumbled before our eyes and despite our best efforts. And we've learned the hard way that having a new baby isn't sunshine and rainbows all the time.
I'm thankful for the bright moments... vacations, friends getting married (and of course the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl). I'm grateful for all the people who have been there for us -- throughout the good, the bad and the ugly -- during this incredibly trying and often tragic year. Without you, we wouldn't have made it through.
2014, I bid you farewell, and not at all fondly.
Peace. Out.
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Negative much? My baby was also born this year and therefore I can't think of one negative thing that also happened?! But more than that, who summarizes an entire year negatively? You're the only blog that did this :( wow
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way about 2011 - it was the year we got married and should have been one of the best years of my life, but too many truly awful things happened that made the entire year feel like it was cursed. Hope 2015 is a much better one for you!
ReplyDeleteOh geez phone is being dumb...
ReplyDeleteRe type: I know it's been hard but you made it through! Hoping for a bright 2015! Maybe I'll get to see you!!
Here's hoping 2015 treats you and your family better..and brings us to the super bowl again :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who Kristy E. is (and you can feel free to delete my comment if you want because of this... ;) ), but she doesn't appear to be a loyal blog reader of yours! I didn't think this was negative at all. You had a difficult year, and I've never met anyone who didn't say an enthusiastic good bye to a year that was hard! You DID note the great things that happened this year! The best thing about a new year is the feeling of a fresh start and the optimism that the new year can't be worse than the last! Happy New Year, my friend! I look forward to reading more of your posts this year, reading about your continued adventures, and seeing all of the new and amazing things Ryder does as he continues to grow! :)
ReplyDeleteso sorry for your sucky year!!! may 2015 be all that much better!
ReplyDeleteIt does sounds like your year has been very rough. :( Here's to moving ahead to 2015!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry it was a hard year! Here's to hoping that 2015 is a million times better! <3
