I love, love, love the tradition of going out and cutting down our own Christmas tree.
This was our first year heading out as a family of four, and we were so excited to make a new day of memories with both Ryder and Kiley. This was our fourth year in a row going to Enchanted Winds Christmas Tree Farm, and once again it did not disappoint. The weather even cooperated for once, so we were really able to enjoy the day outdoors as a family to kick off Christmas.
It took a while of tromping around in the woods, but eventually we found what was deemed to be the perfect tree.
Ryder helped Stew cut it down while Kiley and I supervised.
This year we got a special treat... Bernese Mountain Dogs with carts were available to help bring our tree to the checkout stand!
We of course had to take our annual photo in front of the tree in the gift shop. Our family has grown so much since that very first Christmas with baby Ryder!
Once we got the tree home, we spent the afternoon listening to Christmas music and decking the halls.
Getting new ornaments every year is also one of my favorite traditions. We have quite the collection these days, and this year we got two very special new ornaments with the addition of Kiley to the family.
This is actually the earliest we've ever put up our Christmas tree, and I am really looking forward to coming home and enjoying its peaceful, cheerful glow with my family every evening.
"And now," cried Max, "let the wild rumpus start!"
