Hello, September

Wow, it's September 1st already?!

Crazy.

Today definitely greeted me with a mild sense of panic. Thoughts whirled through my head. "How can summer be over? Did we even DO anything this summer? I'm not ready for it to be over yet!"

But upon further reflection, I think I'm okay with moving on, and here are the reasons why...
{Football}

If you don't already know that we're Seahawks football fanatics, you must be new here. September marks the official start of the season, a time we've been patiently waiting for ever since our hearts were broken in February. We couldn't be more excited to begin another season of 12th Man shenanigans. Hawk Yeah!

{Snow}

We're big fans of winter sports like snowboarding, sledding, and snowshoeing. And ideally fall means the impending arrival of snow in the mountains... Our fingers are crossed for many ski trips in our future this year!

{Holiday Fun}
We learned last year that holidays are much more fun when you have a child. This season will be Ryder's second experience with all the major holidays, and I'm so excited to teach him all about our favorite traditions while spending time with family and friends. Did you know there are only 16 weeks until Christmas?! I'd better start shopping...

Of course I have lots of other favorite things about the beginning of fall, like sweaters, scarves and boots, specialty drinks at Starbucks, and having the excuse to cuddle up indoors and read books all day long.

Plus, we had a pretty awesome summer, and it's actually not quite over yet. This weekend we're headed to Idaho for another Labor Day Weekend at Priest Lake, and I intend to take full advantage of these last few days of the summer sunshine with my family.

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?

  1. I love the fall/winter holidays as well! In addition, fall foliage and crunching leaves beneath my shoes. I hope to take the kids snow tubing this year. We didn't get to go last year.

  3. I can't believe it's September either! It's been so hot here in PA, it feels more like the middle of July! Once school starts, I always just want it to be fall! I want to wear my boots! lol
